The company is owned and managed by Marc Starr, a qualified professional interpreter.
I have been a linguist since my early childhood, taking up French and Latin at an early age and continuing on to study Spanish and French to the A-Level stage. I read Spanish and Portuguese at Leeds University, graduating with a BA Honours degree in 1996. I have lived in Brazil, Spain and Portugal for substantial periods of time.
Since then, I have qualified as an interpreter and my work includes employment at two UEFA European Championships, jobs for football clubs and several years’ experience in the UK’s Criminal Justice System as an independent interpreter.
I have also completed over 2000 hours of interpreting time and a substantial volume of written translation work on a multitude of clients and over many different subject areas. I also handle time-coded audiovisual translation, turning round video or audio recordings with great speed and accuracy.
I am a member of the following institutes and organisations:
- The National Register of Public Service Interpreters
- The Chartered Institute of Linguists
- The Institute of Translation and Interpreting
- The Association of Police and Court Interpreters
- The North West Translators Network
I hold professional indemnity insurance and I adhere to a strict code of confidentiality under the codes of conduct of the institutes I belong to.
